Snøhetta

TORSDAG 17/10 Kl 18.00. ABF-huset Z-salen, Sveavägen 41

For over 20 years, Snøhetta has designed some of the world's most notable public and cultural projects. Snøhetta kick-started its career in 1989 with the competition-winning entry for the new library of Alexandria, Egypt. This was later followed by the commission for the Norwegian National Opera in Oslo. Snøhetta established a New York office in 2004 after being awarded the National September 11 Memorial Museum Pavilion Project at the World Trade Center. They are currently working on a number of educational, civic and cultural projects in North America including the expansion of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in California, the Ryerson University Student Learning Centre in Toronto, the Westchester Branch Library in the Bronx, the Isabel Bader Center for the Performing Arts at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, and the redevelopment of Times Square in New York City, expected to be completed in 2015.

Simon Ewings was educated in the UK and joined Snøhetta in 2001 as Project Architect for the Oslo Opera and Ballet. He moved to the New York office in 2011 to head up the design of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Expansion.
